Realtek HD Audio Driver ALC892 for Ubuntu: Upgrading the Kernel and ALSA Packages

After that I tried to install alsa-driver.hda-intel.hda-codec-realtek-git from the AUR, it fails with the following message:checking for kernel linux/version.h ... noThe file /home/dacre/Downloads/linux-ck/src/linux-3.7/include/INCLUDE_VERSION_H does not exist. Please install the package with full kernel sources for your distributionor use

realtek hd audio driver alc892 for ubuntu

I have installed Windows 8 on a machine with an Asus M4A88TD-M/USB3 motherboard which has an ALC892 sound chip. I can't seem to get the sound chip to work correctly. I've installed the latest driver 2.70 and the audio devices in the device manager look like this:

Some combinations of ALSA drivers and chipsets may cause audio from all sources to skip when used in combination with a dynamic frequency scaling governor such as ondemand or conservative. Currently, the solution is to switch back to the performance governor.

I am running Debian 11. I had trouble getting to use my headset mic and audio at the same time. I found some errors while executing a command for initframs (not for this matter) and I saw I was missing some Realtek firmware(that's my onboard mobo soundcard). So,then I got realtek firmware installed using sudo apt-get install firmware-realtek ,after I rebooted I could see two more options.I used Stereo Duplex and it worked untill I rebooted my PC,and now I am back at the initial part.I don't have these options and the package is installed. What should I do?

You might also run hdajacksensetest (in package alsa-tools) and see if the results look sensible. If it says present = No for an audio jack you know is actually connected, the jack sense map in the system BIOS might be incorrect. You can then use the hdajackretask (in package alsa-tools-gui) to override the BIOS-provided jack sense map. If you need to do that, you should try updating the system firmware (BIOS/UEFI) and see if that fixes the problem persistently. If not, then you should report your system/motherboard model and the hdajackretask options you needed to use to the Linux sound driver developers, so they can make future kernel versions apply the correction automatically.

I have been trying to get 5.1 surround sound working on new motherboard [Viglen DX580G] Documentation says should be possible to use the 3 jacks on the back panel to provide 6-channels (5+1).Audio device is Intel Corporation 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio Controller, as per motherboard specifications: Independent multi-streaming 6-channel (5.1) audio and 2-channel audio subsystem, featuring: - Intel High Definition Audio interface; - RealTek* ALC892 codecHave upgraded to ubuntu 20.04.Have attempted install & configured hdajackretask utility, as per instructions found elsewhere on internet. This seems to have worked (as per dmesg output) but I notice I get an error message when trying to 'Apply now': tee: /sys/class/sound/hwC0D2/reconfig: Device or resource busy ... and I cannot manually edit that file, getting permission denied even with sudoHave updated alsa-base.conf with both model = auto, and model=3stack as advised elsewhere.
